Ziggy is the classic Baroque Friesian. He stands a noble 16.1 hands and was selected specifically for his suitability for cross breeding. He is short in the back making him very strong, has very good bone, is extremely uphill and forward moving. He displays the classically exotic Friesian looks and exuberant movement with the impulsion and extension the Friesian is known for. He has a wonderful, loving and soft temperament, with a little of the Friesian flare.
He has proven to cross extremely well with Thoroughbreds, Standardbreds, Morgans, Arabians, Paints, Andalusians, Warmbloods, and even Quarter Horses! We are extremely happy with ALL of his offspring. His purebred offspring have been absolutely stunning with tons of hair. We are excited for another foal crop this spring. All of his foals will be registered with the Friesian Blood Horse Registry and may be eligible for other part bred registries as well. His purebred foals will be registered with the Friesian Blood Horse Registry and the KFPS B Book where applicable.
About the Friesian Breed
The Friesian brings forth something that no other breed can match. Their amazing temperament has never been rivaled by any other breed. They are patient, calm, confident and have a great work ethic. If you have ever had the pleasure of experiencing the Friesian influence, then you know it is more than skin deep! When you get the chance to sit in the saddle on a Friesian Sport horse, it will all be clear!
We have bred some amazing horses with that Friesian influence, and there is NO substitute. Training these amazing horses is so easy and they are so kind and willing. Possibly the easiest breed we have ever had the pleasure to work with. When you pair all of that with the athletic abilities of the Thoroughbred, Arab, Morgan, Saddlebred, and many other breeds, you create a horse that has a wide range of capabilities. If you would like to know if your mare would cross well with a Friesian, please contact us, we would love to help you.
